    Worker safety\work condition regulations were hard fought victories by workers in the United States. See Union history. Some say that many of these regulations drove manufacturing to places that did not have these worker protections. Singling out bicycles would be an easy way for our government to send a very loud and clear message to overseas manufacturers that they have to play by accepted international standards in regards to worker safety and working conditions.
