Being isolated outside is of minimal risk, so quarantine folks inside their homes is unscientific and stupid.
Unfortunately, I listened to this AFTER buying my gravel bike, but I think I checked most of the same boxes anyway!
Great suggestions on gravel bike features, Patria! Patrick, another production gravel bike worth a look is the Kona Libre. I bought one 10 months ago and have ridden it more than 1500 miles of gravel already. GRX 800 2X is flawless, the frame is very comfortable, and it came with an amazing handlebar: Easton EC70 AX. Wide carbon bars with flare. So comfortable that I bought some for my tandem.
That’s great to hear. We would do well to talk to Kona.
I also like Patria’s suggestions for gravel bike specs. And how to think about it. The key point mentioned is a YMMV statement. Much like mountain biking, gravel biking is very local. And your trails/roads help dictate spec.
I’m enjoying the evolution of the podcast. I’m learning a lot about the technical bits and it’s interesting to hear from a show owner’s perspective. And Patria’s ZIP code is more similar to mine than Patrick’s so, the info is a little more relevant Albany, NY is similar in the weather to what Patria describes so, I’m all ears!
Keep up the great work!
Also, Patria needs a bio for the podcast posts!
