For my second new episode, I’m excited to welcome Todd Bertram, the head builder for R+E Cycles.
R+E got its start way back in 1973 when it was founded by Angel Rodgriguez and Glenn Erickson. Rodriguez and Erickson along with Bill Davidson can be credited with putting Seattle on the frame building map, so to speak.
In its 50+-year run, R+E has gained a reputation for keeping employees for the long haul. Head builder, Todd Bertram, started with R+E back in 1998 and has been building since 2004, a more than 20-year run.
R+E has served as a contract builder of sorts. They still produce Ericksons in addition to Rodriguezes, but they have produced frames under variety of other decals, which we will discuss during out interview.
