Paceline Podcast 202

This week Selene begins by taking on a question about why, in the wake of not following a regimented training plan, our listener has notched Strava PRs on segments they have ridden upwards of 50 times.

She then considers the bicycle as a force for social change. There have been some big demonstrations and protests recently where bikes were front and center, and she notes that a ride held by Black Girls Do Ride drew numbers far greater than expected.

For some of us, it’s hard to give ourselves permission to have fun, to enjoy ourselves given all the unrest right now. Instead, Patrick takes a look at how the bicycle has helped aid in his personal growth beyond fitness. He considers that each of the major developments in his mental and physical health were things he learned about as a result of being a cyclist.
