EF Pro Cycling does a great job with video content, and the series following Lachlan Morton around on his strange pro career are some of the best examples. This one focuses on the Three Peaks cyclocross which has been running in the Yorkshire Dales for over 60 years. It’s not what most of us think about when we think about cyclocross. It also looks agonizingly hard.
But I kinda wanna do it. In fact, I had it on my list a decade or so ago, and a guy I know told me he’d ride it with me, if I could get the training done and make the trip across the ocean. I never did that. But he got after it in a big way.
Watching Lachlan take this on the first time was interesting. I don’t think we have anything comparable here in the states. I find that watching him take on these uncommon events is both interesting and entertaining. Cycling needs more personalities like him.
I’m seventy years old and he is my cycling hero.
