Paris-Roubaix is less a bike race than a sort of Mad Max Roller Derby. Oh, there are bikes, and there is strategy, but what you get more often than not is spectacle, miserable weather or horrible crashes, or both.
The women’s race has only been run twice so far, which is dumb, and it is significantly shorter than the men’s race, which is also dumb, but it promises to be exciting, nonetheless. The men’s version has a storied history. You’ve seen it before. It is the Super Bowl of one day races.
