Frame builder Richard Sachs is an icon in the hand-built community. For many, he is the standard-bearer of what the one-man frame shop is meant to be, an ideal. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Sachs has a diverse set of offerings. Aside from the usual T-shirts and stickers, Sachs sells his own lugs and tube sets. It turns out that a crash had an important role in that part of his business.
