Regarding road vs mtb and how they differ…..
When I was regularly riding road and MTB a lot (late 80’s thru the 90’s to early 2000’s), I would choose a road ride because I wanted to ride mindlessly. Face it, you can’t daydream on a New England singletrack, but your mind can wander safely on country roads. I really didn’t prefer one over the other, I liked each type of riding for what it was. Even though they are both riding bikes, they are both different experiences – and that’s a good thing.
Request: Could we please avoid bringing flow into conversation just once, or even twice? Maybe it’s just me, but flow seems to creep into the conversation practically every episode and I think it’s done. Maybe it’s because I haven’t touched my mtb in a long time, mostly because I just hit the trails on my gravel bike. Sorry for being a crank.
