Today we talk about New Zealand. John is just back from some of the best riding of his life, and so we break down why it’s a mountain biking paradise, how friendly the people are, and how to go about getting the most from a bike rental. Patrick is currently trying to figure out how soon he can make the trip himself.
Robot fell in love with cycling watching the older neighborhood kids ride wheelies down the street. It was the early '70s, and Evel Knievel was jumping motorcycles over buses. Everything seemed possible. From that moment, the die was cast (iacta alia est).
He studied philosophy in college, of course he did. That's what idealists do, romantics, kids who think there must be a better way. At the same time, bikes were carrying him everywhere, delivering all of life's gifts and surprises. Occasionally he crashed and didn't mind.

I loved this episode so much. Listening to Robot trying to pronounce Maori place names was to funny!
Otherwise you pretty much nailed it. Once out of Auckland, food diversity becomes harder to find. The trails are mint! The people are friendly (for the most part) & life is a little more layed back.
I really wish you’d reached out sooner though. I would have loved to of been able to take you on some of the more RAD trails & would have loaned you a bike for ya trip, so you could have had it set up for your comfort. Next time!
