Victor Vincente of America, also known as VVA, was born Michael Beckwith Hiltner. He is a multi-time U.S. National road race champion and Olympian. In 1974, he set a double-transcontinental record riding from California to New Jersey and then back in 36 days, 8 hours. His name is two ways of saying "winning." He is credited with creating one of the first ever mountain bikes (named ‘Topanga!') in 1979 which featured 20” wheels and 1 x 7 gearing. He is also an author, artist, poet and jewelry designer.
